Featuring local teachers in our "Teachers Go Green" series serves as a great way to commend all educators who are making a difference for the future of our planet and provide you with ideas and inspiration on how you can do the same things with your students! If you missed previous parts to this series, visit our blog's main page here and scroll down to previous posts.

Today, Sustainability Superheroes would like to introduce Casey P., a first grade teacher who teaches all subjects. She is teaching her students to use entrepreneurial thinking to rethink the way we dispose of used classroom supplies.
Casey says, "What we do is take dried out markers and recycle them by sending them to Crayola." This is a really simple and effortless way to make a huge difference on the environment.

Crayola actually has a free recycling program where they will take any brand of dried markers and recycle them. They take the plastic from the markers and convert them into reusable anergy. Find out more about the program here.
