The Business Model Canvas for High SchoolThe Gus A. Stavros Center for Free Enterprise and Economic Education at the University of South Florida created this web resource to help teach students about Entrepreneurship. The Business Model Canvas (BMC) is an entrepreneurial tool, created by Alexander Osterwalder to discover new ideas and design business models that help transform an idea into a successful business by creating value for customers. After students come up with an idea for a good or service, they make guesses/hypotheses for the 9 building blocks illustrated below and expanded on the pages on this site. Then, as students interview potential customers the model changes - in BMC lingo, they will pivot their model to solve a pain or create a gain for current or potential customers.
