CPalms Lessons: Water, Water Everywhere! Research the Water Cycle asks students to conduct their own research on the water cycle (hydrologic cycle). Working collaboratively in small groups, students will research and write about the relationships between stages in the water cycle and the three states of matter relating to water. After completing this lesson, students will be prepared to create a model of the water cycle. This lesson uses pictures and a story to illustrate why we need water and the difference between safe and unsafe practices around water.

CPalms Resources:
- Article: https://www.cpalms.org/Public/PreviewResourceUrl/Preview/69172 This informational text resource is intended to support reading in the content area. This article describes the causes and potential effects of toxin cyanobacteria blooms that have occurred in bodies of water in the United States. The blooms are affecting water quality, killing wildlife, and threatening human health (including causing death and illness) across the United States.
- 7th grade https://www.cpalms.org/Public/PreviewResourceLesson/Preview/151272 Students will be tasked with an engineering challenge to design an effective and efficient portable water filtration system. The designs will take dirty water and make it clear so it can be boiled for safe drinking. This lesson aligns to both math and science content standards.
